ibVPN is one of the cheapest VPN providers available on the Internet, so we were curious to see how does it work, what are its features, and if such a low price product can deliver a high quality service. And we had to admit, we were surprised about ibVPN performances and results. However, after using it several times, we discovered it slowest down out whole internet connection. What we liked about ibVPN
Packages and pricing
Basically, ibVPN offers two simple packages: the Premium and the Multi VPN service. They also have a DNS packages. Users have the possibility to choose between Protocols (OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP, or SSTP) according to their needs.
The Premium packages give users access to different servers in different countries:

The Multi packages starts at $19.95, and it is perfect for families up to three members, and goes up to $99.95, for companies with up to 20 employees. All IP’s are shared, except for the dedicated IP packages and ibVPN offer both, static and dynamic IP addresses.
The DNS package costs $4.95.
Free trial
The cool thing about ibVPN is that you can try the free trial for 6 hours, with a money back guarantee for 15 days. You can test it and see how it works and if it is the provider you need.
The ibVPN website
ibVPN has a new website that was redesigned recently, and it looks quite good, we like it. All the needed information is easy to find, you can check several sources, including a useful FAQ, and a server list, with all the users on the server, which we liked a lot.
The customer support
In case you need help, you can contact the customer support, which is available via email. You need to use the ticket system. However, they also have a 24/7 live chat, which is extremely useful. You will get your answer fast. If you have a complicated problem, you can make an appointment to the support team, for remote assistance.
The security
We already said that ibVPN uses PPTP, L2TP, Open VPN, and SSTP protocols, and changing between them is easily. They promise not to keep any logs of users’ activity, and since they are based in Romania, where the EU Data Retention Directive is not promoted, they can do it.
They ask for minimum information to register, and they accept Bitcoin, so you can stay anonymous.
Registering and installing ibVPN
The registration process is fast and simple, and we liked it a lot. They do not ask for a lot of information, and they have a lot of payment methods available. The downloading and installing process is simple as well.
Connection speed
We tried different configuration, using the 10 megabyte broadband connection, and it worked pretty good. The UK servers work better than the ones in the Netherlands or Luxembourg.
What we don’t like about ibVPN
Security
They say not to keep any log, but still, some connection logs are kept for 10 days. They keep the time and the duration information, as well as the bandwidth used during the connection.
Connection
There two things we didn’t appreciate about the connection: basically, it slowed down out overall internet connection, and sometimes we couldn’t use it. Second, ibVPN uses both dynamic IPs, and shared one.
Conclusion
At the end of this ibVPN review, we can conclude that ibVPN is cheap and has a lot of features, so we recommend it. However, try to use only the servers that give you a fast speed connection.
