Founded in 1997, Netflix has grown immensely. The company began life strictly renting videos by mail and in 2007 added streaming video to their repertoire. Based in the United States, Netflix has branched out in other parts of the world with Netflix UK, France Germany and the Netherlands, to name a few.

The US version of Netflix outshines the others in that, they have the largest library of rental videos and streaming movies and television shows. So if you’re in the US, the sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to watching Netflix. But what if you’re not in a country that allows Netflix? In this how-to guide, we will show you step-by-step of how to create a Netflix account anywhere outside the US.

First and Foremost
The first thing you need to have before you even consider creating a Netflix account outside US is a compatible device to view on. Any laptop with HD capabilities will work as well as any smartphone, tablet, or gaming console like the Xbox 360 or PS3. Assuming that you have one or all of these (which would make watching Netflix anywhere much more fun), the next thing you need to have already is a VPN connection. Why a VPN connection? We personally recommend IPVanish because a IPVanish connection will allow you to watch Netflix streaming in HD from anywhere in the world while you appear to the Netflix servers like you’re in the US.
Soup to Nuts
Okay, so you have a device to watch streaming HD video, and you have a VPN setup and ready to go. Now you need to create a Netflix account outside US. There are a few options to creating the Netflix account from outside the US.
- Credit Card- Visa, Master Card, Amex, Discover Card
- US PayPal account
- Virtual Credit Card such as EntroPay
- Valid US address with correct five digits US postal Code.
Step #1: Create an account
The first screen you will encounter is a registration screen. Here you will enter your email address and choose a password. If you have a Facebook account, you can use this as well to register for Netflix. Click register.
Step #2: Choose the plan
Once you have done that, you will have to choose the plan you want. There is a free, one-month trial membership to start, and the membership begins after the free month. Choose the plan you want from 1 screen, 2 screens with HD or four or more screens with HD.
Step #3: Payment
Here’s where it starts to get a little dicey. You have two payment options here, a credit card or a US PayPal account.
If you have a major credit card like the ones shown above or a US PayPal account great. If not you will need to either obtain one of those payment methods or get a virtual credit card from EntroPay. EntroPay is a virtual pre-paid Visa card that can be used online from anywhere for anything online. The prepaid card can be used to create a Netflix account if you’re outside the US.
Make sure that the name on the credit card matches the name you put in this screen. Here you will need to have a VALID US POSTAL /ZIP CODE. If you have no clue how to get one or don’t know what one looks like, go to USPS and look up a postcode by picking a US city and State. Search on Google Earth or Google Maps for a US city and State. Once you click “Start Membership”, then you have it! You have just created a Netflix account outside US.
Other thoughts
You could use your PayPal account as well by clicking the PayPal option and logging into your PayPal using your email address. These works just as well, but again remember the valid US postal Code.
If you run into any issues with your credit card information not validating, keep trying. If the card number still doesn’t work, try clearing out you internet cache and/or cookies. There may be times when Netflix has decided to block you because you are using a VPN/proxy. If this seems to be an issue, change the location from US to UK.
Whether you’re in Asia, India or the Middle East you can watch US Netflix anytime, anywhere. With just a few simple steps, you can create a Netflix account outside US and be on your way to streaming HD movies and television shows!
